Round up in Beijing

There were a few first round shocks including out of form Ljubicic beating last weeks winner of the Malaysian Open, Mikhail Youzhny in straight sets (6-3, 7-6 [3]). The player Youzhny beat in that final, Andrey Golubev retired from his match against Albert Montanes whilst trailing 6-3 3-0. All the other seeded player were comfortable winners bar Robin Soderling who was taken to 3 sets by Tommy Robredo. A milestone for Nikolay Davydenko was reached when he won his 2nd round match against Marin Cilic 7-5, 7-5. The win was Davydenko's 400th of his career, well done Davy :)
