Wednesday preview

The tour continues in Montepellier, St Petersburg & Vienna. Here are today's previews.

Montpellier - ATP

Really looking forwad to the all French affair of Mahut v Simon. If you can find a link i highly recommend that you watch this match. I can't see any upsets today.

St Petersburg - ATP

Not been following the play in St Petersburg but i hope that Viktor can carry on his good run and that Mikhail keeps picking up the points in his push for London.

Vienna - ATP

Likewise with Vienna, not really been following the results but good luck to Mayer today.

Monday preview - Vienna

This year’s Bank Austria TennisTrophy is led by top seed and defending champion Jurgen Melzer, the No. 1 Austrian on the ATP World Tour.

Another Austrian, 43-year-old Thomas Muster, who last played an ATP World Tour-level match at Roland Garros in 1999, is a wild card entry this week. Muster, a three-time finalist in Vienna (1988, ’93 and ’95), first played in this tournament in 1984. This season he has played in six Challengers, winning one match. Muster will take on No. 5 seed Ernests Gulbis of Latvia. The last player 43 years old to play in singles on the ATP World Tour was Jimmy Connors in Atlanta in 1996.

Other seeds are: No. 2 and last year’s finalist Marin Cilic of Croatia, No. 3 Nicolas Almagro of Spain, No. 4 Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus, No. 5 Gulbis, No. 6 Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain, No. 7 Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany and No. 8 Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina. Six of the seeds (except Melzer, Kohlschreiber) have won at least one ATP World Tour title this year.

In Monday’s action, there are four qualifying matches and three main draw singles matches. In the first main draw match on Centre Court, wild card and Austrian No. 2 Martin Fischer takes on Italian Andreas Seppi for the first time. In the next match on, two-time semi-finalist Kohlschreiber brings a 2-0 mark against Colombian Alejandro Falla.
