Jaguar to sponsor the LTA

Jaguar is to sponsor the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) - the governing body of British tennis - for the next three years.

The deal will see Jaguar become the offical car partner to the Aegon British Tennis Series, with commercial rights at events including the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club, and the Aegon Masters Tennis 2010 at the Royal Albert Hall - a veterans' event featuring former British number ones Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski. The LTA will also lend support to the Jaguar Academy for Sport, a programme created to identify and develop young British sporting talent.

LTA chief executive Roger Draper said: "We're delighted to welcome Jaguar as a partner of British Tennis and into our ever growing sponsor family of world class brands. In recognising the work Jaguar are doing through their Academy of Sport, we clearly share an interest in helping develop the young stars of the future. We are therefore looking forward to developing a close working partnership with one of Britain's most iconic brands."

Geoff Cousins, the managing director of Jaguar UK, added: "Tennis has far-reaching consumer appeal in the UK and through this partnership with the LTA we hope to showcase our similarly diverse XJ, XK and XF car range to the British tennis public. The Jaguar Academy of Sport is growing from strength to strength and we look forward to working with the LTA as two great British brands seek to develop the sport further in the UK."
