Bad weather has played havoc with the schedule today so a few players are having to double up tomorrow.
So far 2 seeds have been dumped out in the 1st round. Verdasco continued his bad run with a straight set defeat to Dutch player de Bakker. Fellow Spaniard Almagro was also an early casualty losing to the young Ukrainan Dolgopolov in 3 sets.
A few impressive results included John Isner saving 7 match points against Lukasz Kubot. His reward is a 2nd round match against Roger Federer. But the shock result so far is no doubt the win for local player Yan Bai ranked 465 in the world over Radek Stepanak. The Chinese player won will a scoreline of 6-3, 6-4.
